WFACM: 2nd saturday (Next meet: May 12)
Wichita Falls, Tx @ El Diablo Burrito. WFACM is for getting together and working
on art and crafts! This is a good place to meet with the artist in
person and arrange commissions, or get advice or red-lines. BYOS
(Bring Your Own Supplies) Group projects are encouraged. Skill is not
a factor, Truthfully all artists are constantly learning, come learn
along side us, and have fun.

Why hello my lovely volunteers and con goers! This is your fabulous Volunteer Wrangler here to let you know that we need the assistance of you!
THURSDAY 2/23/12 3:00PM; we will begin unloading the truck and beginning to set up Furry Fiesta for the convention.
I would love to inform you all that any hours worked on Thursday are double hours!! which means double the time towards getting free registration for 2013!
So if you can, or are able please drop by the con hotel THURSDAY 2/23/12 3:00PM and give us a paw!

Hey there everyone! Can you believe it? Less than Three months left till Furry Fiesta 2012!
You know what that means don't you? It's time for volunteers again. That's right guys we need your help! This year we have changed a few things and improved just as many.
Our Volunteer Rewards for this year have changed some this year.
(5) Hours – You will be given a special Furry Fiesta volunteer trinkets!
(12) Hours – You will be given our Furry Fiesta 2012 T-shirt!
(15) Hours – You will be given the choice of either having a Free Attending Membership to Furry Fiesta 2013, OR the option of having the Furry Fiesta 2012 T-Shirt instead!
(20) Hours - as thanks for all your hard work you will receive both a Free Attending membership for Furry Fiesta 2013, AND our Furry Fiesta 2012 T-Shirt!
Also this year I'm doing a few new things for intensives to our fantastic volunteers!
For this year we have set up a fantastic Raffle for a --plays one-up music--

HOW TO GET INTO RAFFLE
So...curious how you get into this raffle? Well here it is!
For all our volunteers give 20+ Hours of your time at Furry Fiesta 2012, I will put all of the names into a hat and select ONE name from the hat and that winning person will receive instead of the free regular attending membership, will receive a Free Sponsor level attending membership for Furry Fiesta 2013.
Can't do that many hours? Well....
For all of our Volunteers who set up themselves as a volunteer for the convention Before the convention, and actually arrive to their designated areas at the specified times (4) Times and have confirmation for the staff member that you did in fact arrange the time before the convention then you will also be put into a separate hat and that winning person will also receive instead of the free regular attending membership, will receive a Free Sponsor level attending membership for Furry Fiesta 2013.

...anything remotely fun to do in the Houston area? TripAdvisor's #1 suggestion: The Holocaust Museum. o_O
My mate and I are planning to visit a friend in the Houston area soon. Every time we go, we are at a loss. And whenever we try our old standby, the zoo, there is not a single parking space to be had anywhere around it! Just hundreds of other cars circling, looking for one to open. So we kinda drive around town aimlessly and end up wandering around Galveston, trying to avoid Landry's tourist traps.
If you've been or live in the Houston area, where do you like to go to kill an afternoon or even a weekend?

It's hard to believe the time passes so quickly, but as October creeps steadily closer, the world's largest outdoor furry convention, also the most affordable out there, is just around the corner in the state next door! Online registration has only 75 days left at http://oklacon.com/
Hosted in a gorgeous canyon in Roman Nose State Park in Oklahoma, Oklacon offers a refreshing alternative to hotel-based furry conventions. With plenty of outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, stargazing, and outdoor games, we're quite a change of place to the same-ol', same-ol' experience of most furry cons. If the warm glow of a crackling campfire set under the dark, starry skies sounds like your idea of a great weekend, then we're just what you're looking for. :)
We also have a fully-fledged Dealer's Den and Artist Alley which offer everything from fursuiting studios to comic/book distributors to professional artists. Our Guests of Honor Bucktown Tiger and Myenia have some awesome stuff in store for you, and we have a full-fledged musical, Julie Bunnie Must Die!, which will be performed live! This year's theme is based around all things Steampunk, so it's time to dust off those top hats and pull out your monocles and join us for a great time in the great outdoors!
If you've heard about us before but have never taken the plunge, make this year your first! Cabins and lodge rooms are sold out, but we still have motel rooms, tent spaces, and 74 FREE A-Frame sleeping bunks still open for the taking. We attract furs mostly from KS, OK, TX, CO, NM, AR, MO, and LA, but we've had those as far away as Germany attend.
We would ESPECIALLY love to welcome our Texas neighbor-furs. We always have a huge number of Texas Furs come out to Oklacon, and you guys help make our con rock! Finding a ride shouldn't be too hard, even from San Antonio or Houston! Feel free to use our rideshare forum or our "Map of Who's Coming" to help identify people to share costs with, and join us!
